Class Descriptions

These are the class descriptions for our 2016 classes.

Strength

I AM BARRE

The ultimate Barre workout inspired by Classical Ballet, Modern Dance techniques and Classical Pilates.  Perform precise movements at the barre to create a strong, streamlined, toned physique.

BODY PUMP ™

The original LES MILLS™ barbell class will sculpt, tone, and strengthen your entire body, fast! Great bodies aren’t born, they are transformed, using the proven BODYPUMP™ formula: THE REP EFFECT™ a breakthrough in resistance workout training. Focusing on low weight loads and high repetition movements, you’ll burn fat, gain strength and quickly produce lean body muscle conditioning. BODYPUMP™ is one of the world’s fastest ways to get in shape as it challenges all of your major muscle groups while you squat, press, lift and curl.

CORE STABILITY

Consists of stability ball exercises combined with other stabilization activities to target and strengthen the abdominal, lower back, and other core muscles.

ABS & STRETCH

Designed solely for the strengthening and conditioning of the abdominal muscles.  Add Stretch and it is Abs and Stretch.

STRENGTH WORKS

Target all major muscle groups in this powerful, efficient, result oriented strength workout utilizing various fitness tools.

SENIORCISE

Designed to address the specific needs of our senior population. All exercises can be performed seated or standing and include cardiovascular, strength, agility, and flexibility training.

Cardio

BODYATTACK™

Body Attack is the sports-inspired cardio workout for building strength and stamina. This high-energy interval training class, with an average calorie burn of 675, combines athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilization exercises. Dynamic instructors and powerful music motivate everyone towards their fitness goals – from the weekend athlete to the hard-core competitor!

H.I.I.T. SPIN

Utilizes a combination of high intensity intervals of speed and/or resistance cycling.

INTERVAL TRAINING

Alternating plyometric and cardio moves with body sculpting. Students will burn calories with cardio and build lean muscle with strength training.

QUICK FIT

Circuit-training workout that incorporates intervals of strength and cardiovascular training for those individuals with limited time.

SPINNING®

A cycling workout, set to unique music, which takes you on a simulated journey over hills and various other terrain. Please bring a towel and water bottle.

SWEAT

A no nonsense workout with cardio drills and strength building exercises for a challenging sports training experience.  Reach your fitness goals and be prepared to sweat in this high-energy, high-intensity class.

TABATA  BURN

This amazing, non-stop, “never get bored workout” is climbing to the top of the charts as being the BEST fat burning workout ever. The Tabata formula has been scientifically proven to increase your endurance and athletic performance, decrease your body fat, and increase your metabolism! You will push through 20 second intervals of high intensity cardio/strength exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest, just enough to catch your breath and wipe your brow.  The series repeats 8 times, then on to another set of exciting exercises. Get in the best shape of your life, feel the burn, and waste no time! One question: Can you keep up?

ULTIMATE WORKOUT

The ultimate cardio and strength interval workout designed to work every inch of your body and maximize your post workout caloric expenditure.  All levels welcome.

ZUMBA

An exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fit party that’s moving fitness enthusiasts toward joy and health.

Mind-Body

PILATES

A mind/body workout designed to increase strength, flexibility, range of motion, and tone through continuous and controlled motion.

SLOW FLOW YOGA

This class focuses on the basics-breath, alignment and safely transitioning from one posture to the next.  Don’t let the term slow fool you, though!  Reducing your reliance on momentum by actively engaging the muscle groups necessary to move your body will challenge you in new ways, all the while helping you to work toward an optimal balance between strength and flexibility.  Perfect for beginners and a challenge for the experienced.

YOGA

Challenging, yet relaxing class for both the mind and body. This class will provide internal feedback designed to assist the body in achieving increased range of motion, flexibility, balance, and stability, while helping to decrease tension and stress.

YOGA NIDRA

This Yoga practice is a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. Bring yourself an incredible calmness, quietness, and clarity through mediation.

Aqua

AQUA BLAST

Dive in to this low impact cardio and conditioning class that incorporates the latest and wettest aqua based exercise into a joint friendly, high- energy water workout.

AQUA MOTION

Cardio and strength movement combinations patterned to maximize the resistance of the water.

H20 CORE & MORE

A high energy water class using water resistance to strengthen the core.  Reduce your stress in the healing environment of the water.

AQUA  ZUMBA®

This class blends the Zumba® philosophy with water resistance, for one pool party you shouldn’t miss! There is less impact on your joints during an Aqua Zumba® class so you   can really let loose. Water creates natural resistance, which means every step is more challenging and helps tone your muscles.
